Tori Spelling says Shenae Grimes “has made it”

“Beverly Hills, 90210″ alum Tori Spelling has some words of encouragement for Canadian actress Shenae Grimes amid rampant rumours surrounding her behaviour on the set of the new “90210″ spinoff series.

“I can only look at the positive side of what’s happening and I can say that she’s made it,” Spelling said with a laugh in a phone interview from her Los Angeles home this week.

“Once they start talking about you, false or true, then you’ve made it, so you can look at it that way.”

Rumours have been swirling on gossip blogs recently that Grimes, who hails from Toronto and gained fame on the homegrown teen TV series “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” has been a diva to her new “90210″ cast members and crew.

There has also been talk about Grimes’s slim figure, with some suggesting she has an eating disorder.

She says she has watched the new incarnation of the series and likes it.

“I think it’s good,” said Spelling. “I think, unfortunately, people are going to expect it to be the original ‘90210′ which it’s not – it’s its own show. I feel like it shouldn’t be put up on a pedestal of having to uphold that image, but as a stand-alone show, as a teen drama, I think it’s a cool show.”

As for whether Spelling will actually appear on “90210,” she isn’t saying.

“One never knows,” she teased.

“I have no plans at this point to be on it but I never rule anything out. If it’s meant to be, it’ll work out.”
